New Teaching Job

I am loving my new teaching job!! I teach pottery and art to 4-11 year-olds, and it has been wonderful so far. The children always love to be there, so it makes my work enjoyable. I even teach a Storybook Art class, which is right up my alley with my love of Childrens' books and the art that makes them so amazing. Pottery is very messy, but oh so fun! I can already tell the kids are improving their skills, and it's exciting to see how creative they get with clay. I like the people I work with and the program I work for, and I think I've had a great start so far!

Hyannis Port

I've had a few wonderful opportunities to visit Hyannis Port, MA on Cape Cod this Summer. We love the area, but the best part is the house we stayed at. This beauty was built in the 1860's, and is rich in history.

Judy Garland stayed here a few summers when it was a bed and breakfast.

It was once an infirmary which treated the sailors when they got off their boats infected with gangrene. You could never tell.

The view was the very best part! The home is right on the water, next to the beach and pier. My friends saw Taylor Swift on this pier a few weeks ago. She wouldn't take a picture with them though.

I loved this beautiful bathroom, complete with a clawfoot tub. It felt frozen in time.

You can't see it in this photo, but there's an outdoor shower to the right of this table! I love showering outside... but forgot a towel.  uh oh

 The front

My little friends. The sweetest thing to wake up to. Even at 6:30 on a Saturday. :)

The shells on this beach were really interesting. There were tons.
The Kennedy Compound is two doors down from where we stayed. This is the view from the beach.

We ate here. It made me miss the Spanky I knew...  (he was my cousins' dog)
All of our experiences in Cape Cod have been really memorable. I feel lucky to have had the opportunities to visit and get to stay at such a neat home!
