Finished Quilt

I am incredibly behind on this blog. I think it may be the bleh of this winter that got to me. But I have been very crafty lately!! Through all of the cold and snow and being cooped up a lot, I've been a busy lil' bee with my projects. Many nights Chad has to tell me to get off my sewing machine because I'll be up late working on stuff and he has trouble sleeping with my clakkity machine.

I got the lovely design and tutorial for this quilt from some bloggy role models of mine, Heather and Megan, at Quilt Story. I am constantly inspired by what they share.

I admit- it got tedious at times, but I am happy with the end piece! I love all of the fabric I used and think it came together nicely. The blessings of a winter's work!

The back looks cool, too. It wrinkled nicely- my mom was right when she said one of the best parts of making a quilt is when you pull it out of the dryer.

With some good snuggling this thing will be perfect.

This is my "technical" first quilt. I have worked on other quilts, but this is the first I've done on my own without my mom or grandmother helping. There is much room for improvement, but I am overall happy with the fabric choice and quality. I'm glad I decided to hand-quilt! I like that the quilting is not dense- it makes the quilt have a nice fluff to it. I machine pieced everything and really enjoyed deciding the arrangement.

Is there any better way to spend an evening than under a quilt with my honey and a funny movie?
